Day 83: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

As you can imagine, we got off to a rather late start. The best way to get rid of a hangover, sweat it out, so we walked across the street to the park and got a good workout in. Robbie brought a 100lb resistance band and Boyd and I have jump ropes; we try to squeeze in small workouts whenever possible.

Later that day, we headed off for the War Remnants Museum, a museum about the Vietnam War. I have heard that it is anti-America, but I wasn't prepared for what I saw. The Vietnam War is known as the American War in this museum, where the Vietnamese fought the Americans, not the Americans fighting with/supporting the south along with other allies against the north and their allies. Everything is twisted to sound negative towards Americans. -- "Here is a Colt 45 pistol, used by police officers as well as soldiers. It was also used to kill innocent civilians." Then you see multiple pictures of soldiers shooting or beating people with the pistol with no clue if they were civilians or not. I am not going sit here and give you my opinion on the war, but this museum is very anti-American.

Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to see the whole museum. We will for sure be coming back tomorrow.

As we walked back, we found a great local street side restaurant and ducked in for a couple drinks to help wash down the images that we just witnessed. A couple rounds turned into all night, as we ordered frog legs, rabbit, and a case of beer to help keep us company.
