Day 74: Hoi An

We had an early morning train take us to our next destination. The day train wasn't bad at all it gave us time to read, organize all our photos, and plan out our next couple days. Once we got closer to our destination, we were riding right by the coast and it was amazingly beautiful. Our train stopped in Da Nang, so we had to get a cab ride from here into Hoi An, which was about 45 minutes away. We met a couple, one from Buenos Aires and the other from Rio de Janeiro, and all joined in for a van ride to cut down on the price.

We ended up finding a great youth hostel and, again, rented mopeds to explore the city. Renting mopeds has been extremely cheap and a quick and efficient way to get around the city. Want to go to the beach? Two minute moped ride. Oops, forgot the towels and speakers... Quick ride back. Want to leave and go grab some lunch in town? Everything was within a five minute drive, and anything else would be even more difficult to get to without a moped.

First thing we did... Beach! Grabbed us a couple chairs and enjoyed the view especially with the Cham Islands in the distance. The beach is covered with local ladies who are selling food and drinks. It was pretty funny to see all the ladies running out with their menus, competing for customers.

Afterwards we cruised around on the mopeds, from one end of the beach area to the next. Hoi An is loaded with lavish fancy resorts. The ride was great, never ran out of good sights. We then walked around the city center, which is blocked off to all vehicles... Pedestrian friendly. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and tailors.
